Goes to show how long since I've been on.. Hated to hear bout Seabronc.. Fred has helped me many times with a few bugs on my 85.... You will be missed my brother....Semper-Fi.....
The torsion bar isn't hard to replace but you will need an extra set of hands and a cheater pipe to get it loaded and set back into place...Last one we did was on a new replacment shell so you might check the manuel i think they suggest removal of all internal parts...We swapped everything over...
Just a thought,But when i rebuilt my 351w i bored it 0.40 over and used a generic flywheel from autozone(I know shame shame).Got the engine reinstalled and the first couple of spins of the starter was fine. Then it got louder and every so often would grind.Figured it was the starter and
change...
Even though the 302 and the 351w are basically kissin cousins they will interchange pretty much everything but intakes....Sorry dude...But the upside... Aluminum intake are pretty cheap...I think i only paid about $175.00 for a good edelbrock intake or find a stock one in the boneyard for next...
Like seabronc was saying could be the rod in a bind or trash in the switch causing it to bind up....But it also could be in the ignition switch....The last time my key was stiff when trying to turn it i pulled the switch cleaned it out and shot a spray of poly-lube in there and did...
On my 85 about the only thing left stock is the gearing..(3.55) Even with a 351 4 bbl bored 0.40 over the mpg really isn't too bad...I've tried that sixlitre tune-up and has made a difference...I believe i'm getting right at 15 in the city and somewhere close to 18 on the hwy...Even though i...
Yardape is right...that's the way you have to look at it....When i first brought my 85 home my wife thought it was the biggest piece of junk...She looked at it and asked me what are you going to do with that..I said fix it...The engine had to rebuilt plus other things that needed fixin...But i...
I'm sure it's not the answer your looking for but i'd just spend the little extra money on wider wheels....They anit cheap if you buy a good set but still not worth the hassle with having to send money on other front end parts that you end up breaking....
The hissing sound your hearing is just freon pressure bleeding off....That is what your compressor is for it pressurize's the a/c system...Your gauge problem could be anything form a problem in the harness or as simple as just a sensor or sending unit....On yor temp gauge have you replaced your...
I'm running long tube headers and three inch exhaust...Was running raptor mufflers..Kinda like a flowmaster clone but didn't like them much after a while....Went back to thrush glasspack(18 inch case)and love the sound....Has a good rumble at idle and great power sound at higher speeds or hard...
It's the classical if momma aint happy then aint nobody happy....I feel for ya brother i've been married now 23yrs so i can say been there done that...Me i'm like croneybones swap out as much of the best parts and any that might turn acouple bucks and scrap the 88...Put the money from that into...
Most of the time you won't have to pull the engine....Like yardape was sayin i've changed mine with it still sitting in the truck.....Take the manifold or header loose and loosen the mount jack her up alittle remove the mount and there should be enough room to operate....One suggestion replace...
Sounds like a killer deal...And the owner seems like most of us...On top of maintance and real good record keeping...And the a/c works!!!! Mine has 2/55 a/c...2 windows down and 55mph....Seriously i think my bronco is from somewhere north cause it's an XLT and no a/c...Not even any vents in the...
Rhino-liner works really well too...After buying my bronco priced both ways as far as refinishing my top...Spraying with rhino-liner was whole lot cheaper and faster...And too it helped with some noise control and added very little extra weight to the top...I had already pulled all the carpet...
That is true..Working in parts for a ford dealer for some time now(10yrs.)boy time flies when your having fun..But back to the subject...The face of the unit may be of same or like size but with it being a six disc the back is massive and on the old or heritage style there's not enough room...
It's die-electric grease...It will seal out water and will not keep it from not firing the plug...Also help keep yor plug wire boots from seizing to the plug it's self....Works great use it on all my electrical connectors...I keep a tube of that and a can of WD-40 in the bronco tool box at all...
Like seabronc said either a local salvage yard or you could check craig's list or ebay...you might just get lucky...I don't know where you at but here we have a free paper that comes out once a week called the peddler that let's people list just about anything for free....hope this helps.... B)
