    Broncos in a Connecticut Junkyard

I was at Chuck&Eddies Saturday and found a tire carrier for my Bronco and there was another blue&white 87/88 Bronco in there that wasn't there a week ago and it even had a plow frame on it.The other Broncos I mentioned earlier are still there except the all black late eighties one.I...

Finally got a new tire carrier

I went to Chuck&Eddies junkyard Saturday and found a tire carrier for my Bronco off a '94 for $30.I remember awhile back on someone's post they were mentioning something about the difference between the earlier and later outside tire carriers and never really took notice until I found the...

Hats off to the idiots at ford

I love the Bronco and had mostly Ford vehicles but sometimes dred working on them because the location of some of the hardware and my fear of breaking a bolt in a next to impossible place to get at.I also hate having to go to the dealer for anything because they are all gung-ho to help you until...

    Broncos in a Connecticut Junkyard

Today I went to the junkyard with my boyfriend to look for a bumper for his father's car and I spotted three Broncos in there. One was a shiny 92-96 blue/white XLT with lots of good parts, the wheel wells and tailgate are shot, the doors don't close but the front bumper and a lot of other parts...

    taking the top off

The top is heavy and kind of awkward so you are going to at least need one person to help you (the more the better)and lift it straight up and walk it back and put the top on something like 4X4 blocks of wood. The first time you go to take the top off your going to have to pull up on the back...

    taking the top off

I bought my 89 Bronco from the original owner and he said he never had the top off before because he was afraid it would leak.I was afraid of the same thing and for the first three years I owned my Bronco I never took it off.I met up with this guy that had a 96 and took his top off without a...

Hats off to the idiots at ford

I had the same problem a few years back on my Bronco when I replaced the original water pump.A couple of the bolts came out like butter and then there were a few that gave me a problem.I knew what was going to happen when I tried to use a breaker bar on the bolts ,you guessed it,they snapped...

    351W Swap in a 78/9 bronco

You should be able to get a C-6 from a later Bronco or F-Series 4X4 302 or 351 windsor ( or small block C-6 two wheel drive and change the tailshaft and housing) (requires gutting the tranny). As far as the motor mounts you should be able to use the ones for a 73-79 F-Series with a 302.

    Tach Jumps

My tach on my 89 does the same thing around the same RPM,It started doing it about a year ago.My bronco used to stall all the time until it was fully warmed up.It would pop and stumble on acceleration so I suspected the TPS sensor and I replaced it in February and all seemed well,I could start...

    Modern stuff in the Bronco

I know as far as the overhead console, the later model xlt and eddie bauer had one as an option with a digital compass and thermometer, light, and sunglass holder. The later steering wheel would be kind of difficult because of the clockspring or contacts in the stock column to later steering wheel.

    very low pedal

For the longest time the brake pedal has been low on my 89 bronco,it stopped ok so last summer I replaced the calipers, hoses, wheel cylinders(they were shot), and even one brake line (it looked like an onion ring) and we bled the heck out of them and still had a low spongy pedal so we used it...

    Torque converter?

Did you ever consider maybe a tps (throttle posistion sensor)? Sometimes ,when you drive at a certain speed there may be a groove worn in and when it hits that spot it would feel like its shuttering or loosing power then when you get past that certain speed it would pick up speed. That is one...

    fuel pump

sounds like there could be a intermitent conection in the wiring leading to either fuel pumps or the relay if i were you i would check my connections just to make sure that none of the wiring is corroded or has any kind of cracks or splits where it could loose contact periodically good luck

Smells like trans fluid coming from exhaust?

if you have a c6 tranny there is a possiblilty that there is a bad diaphram in the modulator located at the right rear corner of the tranny just above the trannypan.if you pull off the rubber hose there should be no transmision fluild comming out of the modulator if there is that could be the...
