    new windshield wash reservoir leaks

replaced the reservoir with a new one but now the windshield wash side won't hold fluid. there's a star washer that pushes against the pump assembly to hold it in place. I've got it seated in as far as it will go but it's got a leak. is there anything I can do to fix this before I seal the...

    rear window seal

yes seabronc, part #4 is what I meant. it's the rubber that's attached to the back of the shell that the window slides into. it looks like parts #7 & 8 would just drop into the tail gate without disassembly, correct?

    rear window seal

the seal in there now is dry rotted and starting to leak. is this a one piece seal or is it comprised of several pieces? also, what is involved with replacing the seals on top of the tail gate where the window goes up and down. thanks.

    tailgate seperation

o.k., i think i know what caused the split. heavier / larger spare tire than stock. the problem didn't show up until i went to larger tires. thanks for providing the great tutorial miesk5. now to find a good body man...

    tailgate seperation

miesk5, if you look at your diagram, the point of seperation is right at the place where the #5 arrow points to. it's an actual split between two pieces of sheet metal where they are joined together. i saw another bronco for sale on e-bay and one of the pictures showed the same split, making...

    tailgate seperation

just noticed that there is a seperation in the metal on the tailgate at the very top right side on the edge. no rust, just a 3" long opening about 1/16" wide. common problem? any fixes? thanks.

    broken door handle...

chasing the threads with a 6mm tap worked like a champ. new screw had a 10mm head compared to the original 8mm but there were no clearance problem, went right back in. the replacement metal door handle is a Dorman part.

    broken door handle...

the plastic inside door handle (driver's side) on my '96 bronco broke off the other day. usually this is no big deal to fix. HOWEVER, the last time whoever changed out the last broken one, stripped the threads on the screw that holds the handle on. i found another screw at the hardware store...

    fastener help...

thanks miesk5, you always deliver! found out the door panel fasteners are called "christmas trees" and are readily available. so, good to go there. maybe i'm missing it, but i'm still not clear on what attaches the instrument panel (part #04320, the a/c vents, the headlight and rear window...

    fastener help...

would anyone know the correct part # / description of the fasteners that hold the door panels and dash bezel in place? i just bought a '96 eddie bauer that the previous owner had an after market stereo and alarm system installed. the door panels rattle and the bezel covering the instument...

    Original Bronco Captains Seats

tally, i feel your pain. i've got an '86 and the drivers captains seat back rest is stuck in the mid position. the adjustment lever is missing and even trying to use vise grips won't let you change the angle of the back rest. something in the internal linkage / mechanism is bound up and i...

    steering stabilizer install

i looking at installing a steering stabilizer on the bronco. i'm going for a monroe kit that is on the justsuspensions website. they show two options. one being for an open channel frame, the other for a boxed frame. underneath it LOOKS like it would be an open channel frame, but how can i be...

    replacement undercarrige bushing kit

the last time i was under the bronco i noticed that all the rubber bushings / parts were deteriorated or worn out. the truck came from southern arizona so heat and age took their toll. what i need to know is what kit i should get? i'm still learning about broncos and need your good advice...

    air cleaner question

thank you seabronc. i'm on it. there were several hoses not connected when i got the truck. on purpose or not, i don't know.

    air cleaner question

i'll stick with the factory air cleaner set up. probably the best thing about it is that it uses colder air (more dense) with a ram air type effect being fed from the front of the truck rather than hotter air from under the hood. now, about those vacuum lines  . seriously, some are...

    holley carbs (again)...

thanks for the info kevin. i probably would have gone that route had i known more about carburetors. i stuck with the holley only because that's what the factory put on there. i'm a big fan of fuel injection too, but deliberately got a carbed version bronco for simplicity and the price was right.

    air cleaner question

is there any advantage to installing an after market open element type air cleaner? you know, the kind they sell at parts stores with the chrome top. i'm wondering because my '86 bronco (351 4bbl) factory air cleaner has several air / vacuum lines going to it and also has a breather from the...
