I need some help I have a 94 bronco with a 351 that I just bought. It was sitting for about 2 years it starts good but when I drive it, it makes a knocking noise only when I try to accelerate it alot and Im not getting the full power maybe half, if I drive it slow its ok. But when its in park and I give it gas it doesn't knock it reacts pretty good. I've checked oils they are good and changed spark plugs. any advise anybody.

your lossing spark start with the easyest first coil if that dosent fix it go the the ignition mod, if you still have the prob its the pickup coil in your distributor.when you go through this save your receipts because you can return the parts if it does not fix it. i would start with the coil and go from there. i had the same problum, the knock you hear is a cylinder or more not firing do to a weak spark it runs fine at ideal and when you coast becouseat low rpm the spark is strong enough to ignight the little bit of fuel in the cylinder but at high rpm it puts out the same spark so its like throwing a match into a bucket of gas.

Milo,you might try changing the place where you get gas...Fords are bad about spark knock when running poor grade of gas...myself i try too run only shell or bp...any gas other than these little kwiky marts...i stop once and by mistake grabbed unleaded(87 octane) and i have never had my bronco cough and fart and rattle or spark knock like that...i stop that saturday and filled her up at shell with unleaded(87octane)and ran like a totally different truck...you might start there and see if it makes any difference.....good luck.... B)

I tried Wawa (local con. store chain) for 3 months and the 96 developed a ping.

A 1/4 tank leaves a lot of air space for temperature variations and humidity to accumulate moisture in the tank. Moisture (water) and gas do not mix. The water is heavier than gas and settles at the bottom of the tank, which may produce rust which can quickly clog fuel filters leaving you stranded and/or lead to a leaking tank.
LOL... to what you might want to add... the pump pulls fuel from the bottom of the tank, and the engine does not run well on water !

Due in part to the high humidity and possible water contamination, we had a water separator inline in our fuel line for our inboard boat. When the darn thing started hessitating, it was time to drain the water out.
