I think I have figred it out. I have the tank and hoses out of the Explorer and studying it I believe that I have pretty much figured it out. One concern was that there is a small vacuum line on both ends of the vapor system. Looking at all the lines and hoses I have laying around it appears that one end goes to vacum and the other end goes to the air cleaner. Only makes sense that it is a closed system.

The other system is the purge valve. I took it off and one connection is clearly marked "to canister". I remember that ther was a long hose on it that went up to the box with the filler in it. There has to be an exhaust on it somewhere to exit the air when filling the tank. Based on this infrmation I believe that I can build a system that will work but in case It doesn't I wouldn't hurt to have the vacuum diagram if it is not too much trouble laying your hands on one.
