That's a tough question to answer, with so many variables.  A rebuild could be less ...or more...depending on what type of rebuild you want, how many components are going to be reused, condition of your engine, etc.  The labor rate in your area is unknown also.

You may want to surf for crate prices ...just google "Crate 351"   Then search for engine rebuilders in your area and have a conversation with them.

Good Luck

Mark wrote on 19 SEP 2014 "I received a quote from Ford on a reman EO4D for $3100 installed ($2100 for the tranny, $1000 installation), however that was for an automatic with all the updates and a 3 year 35,000 mile warranty. They told me that I could have a tranny shop do it and it wouldn't void it. The tranny shop would be cheaper. I feel like if you find one in a JY, it's either gone or on its way there seeing as it's in a JY. Also, its harder to find a manual from the JYs that I have been in. When mine goes, I believe I will be going the ford route (then have a transmission shop install it). Its more expensive, but the piece of mind is worth it IMHO."

JOwens wrote on 9 JUL 14; "...I got a monster. I'm happy with it so far. But it took forever to get it. At least at the ford dealer they can have one the next day and it was only a couple hundred more...

My monster transmission/converter/cooler ended up being right at $2000 shipped. That also included freight to return the core and converter. If you live outside of Florida it might be a touch less since I had to pay sales tax.

Im pretty pleased with it so far, but I only have 200 miles on it. I will reserve judgement till I get 50,000 miles on it. But so far, so good. I got the heavy duty version they sell. They wont sell you the stock one if you have 31" or larger tires..."

Mikey350 wrote on 9 JUL 14; "...I  did some looking for a transmission for my '94, this is what I got as a part number when I got a quote from FordParts.com:

KIT - REMAN AUTOMATIC TRANSMIS  Part #: F2TZ7V000HRM  Price was $2,169.33

Core Deposit: $1,000.00   The quote was a year ago, so the price may have gone up (of course) - I didn't buy a transmission (yet). I seem to remember when I talked to my local dealer about installing it, they wanted about $1100 If you Google the part number, there is one at a Texas dealer cheaper than the above quote,
