Lift Kit got here this week!

Well, I got my Skyjacker 4" Lift Kit with New Rear Leaf Springs this week. And some 33 Buckshots. Next week I will get it installed I hoped. Doesn't look too bad of an install. Got a couple jacks and plenty of Jackstands and all the tools I need I think. I pressure washed my undercarriage (Hate gettin dirt in my eyes when I work) and soaked eveything with penetrant. But I got a side grinder for the stubborn ones (and a cuttin torch if it comes to that!) I see that Skyjacker says to weld one of the brackets. Seems like a good idea.

Any tips, advice, etc.?

Good luck with the lift kit, I think you'll be happy once you get it put on!!! Welding the axle pivot drop bracket to the frame crossmember on the passenger side is suggested to increase the strength on that bracket, which gets alot of strain from the driver's side axle beam. If you don't have a welder, you might go ahead and install the lift, then find the time and place to at least get a tack weld or two put on the bracket at the frame before you run the BAJA 1000, JSM84

You will love it!!!! I have a 4" kit also and 35's...It is wicked kool to sit above all those plastic cars!! B)

33s are all I'm puttin on it. It will put my final drive ratio to a pretty good place for 60mph driving and will not stress everything else like the bigger tires would. Already had a 4wd with big tires. Too much trouble...Always breaking something. I might go with 35s later but no bigger. I had an old ford f150 with lotsa lift and 44s. I was replacing something weekly! 33s will get me through anything I need to go thru.

lol 33's r good lookin with 4" id get them pretty wide though.. 12.5 maybee?
