Alright first things first. 1994 Bronco Eddie Bauer, that nice ass ford red color. 128k just bought paying 2100 in total for it. few rust spots normal wheel well and fender flare spots. and an odd one above the doors? anyways, shoulda checked this before i bought it, but the tailgate doesn't come down. Me and my brother tried for a few minutes to try and force it open. but it's stuck good. anyways, anyone have any ideas why it is stuck? and yes the window is all the way down.

You can try removing the access panel on the inside of the tailgate, and see if you can reach the tailgate release at the bottom-center. It might be tough with the glass down. I took the hardtop off of my 86 the other day to get the tailgate open, as the glass was stuck all the way up.

thanks a lot guys, I think I'll take the inside panel off and see whats up. Probably a cable unhooked? Oh, and is it odd to have rust above your door? i'll take a pic of it later. btw, big plans for my bronco. starting with new front and rear axles so that I can get some bigger tires, lift too of course. but how big do i want to go?

1. There is a bar at the bottum of the gate that the window forces down that activates the linkage for the gate latch. Aftdr you pull the pannle raise and lower the window and feel around for the bar that hanges from the inside handle that the glass catches.

Do they have a key lock on the outside?
That only raises and lowers the glass

2. the rust spot above the door right near the back end of th erain gutter is "normal" very high stress point. I think it gets worse when running without the top for long time, (last 4 years for me) but every summer for the previous 6.
