Tire and Wheel Question

Hi all, I am new here and have inherited my uncles 1974 Bronco. Starting to decide what we want to do for the restore. It currently has 15” rims with Cooper Weathermaster 235/75/r15 tires. I am looking to upgrade to 16” or 17” rims with BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO2 tires. The tire guy suggested I ask if anyone had used this size and what, if any, was the offset needed. It has a 1” lift on it as well. Any info would be helpful, kind of at a loss where to start with this.

Welcome, hope someone else responds, I have only ever run 15" rims. Biggest tire I ran was a 33x12.50 15. which is like a 325/70 15

Are the rear wheel wells cut? Or are they uncut, factory style where the cover the top of the tire?

Welcome to tge zone Cooper. Unfortunately, I dont have much experience with the gen 1 Broncos, and none regarding offset.
I did have to say that is a beautiful truck, congrats!

Howdy from Texas & welcome.
Old school 15s here also & going to stick with it.
All I can suggest is to seek out a tire/wheel Jedi master. There you will find the knowledge that you seek.
