My buddys eletric shift transfer case appears dead. there's a red light on the module and it was clicking when the buttons were pressed. now nothing, Chiltons don't tell you anything, so any advise would be helpful.

Ps we're in the UK so parts are limited.

Try taking the shift motor out and then pushing the buttons to see if it works. Probably it is dead and needs to be replaced.

Good luck,

Welcome to Bronco Zone!!! There is some info on troubleshooting the electric-shift motor in the How-To & Tech Articles forum. Could be a bad motor or just the relay. Good luck ,JSM84

I'll third the same advise, probably a problem with the electric shift motor, relay, connection or wiring. Unfortunately being in the UK the chances of tracking down a manual Xfer case to swap in are pretty slim and worse still there's no way to convert the electric case to manual operation so you're pretty much stuck with repairing it or sacraficing 4x4. You might get lucky and it's just the connection, I'd start there and work my way backwards. If the motor is shot my might be able to find a shop that repairs electric motors and have them rebuild it for you, I had a friend who went that way.
