Any advice on installing headers?

I am also planning on doing dual straight pipes like this:

I'm wondering if anyone has tips for me, the instructions say I have to remove the starter and the front driveshaft, do I really have to do that, and it also says lift it 24" that seems pretty high, I don't think it will even fit in my garage if I do that.

I lifted mine maybe 6 inches, left the starter alone but had to drop the driveshaft. If i were you though I would go and get a torx type bolt to replace the ones that came with the headers.the regular ones are a HUGE pain to make sure they are tight (i lost 3 because we couldnt get a wrench on them well enough) Good Luck!

I wont need to change or refill any oil by doing so will I? sorry i ask this without looking at truck or in manual, but its snowing outside. How high do I need to jack it up, will jack stands work or will I need a garage with a lift.

No you dont have to change the oil. But when was the last time it was done, maybe its time.

couple hundred miles ago, I was just wondering if I should get some so I'm not stranded. I live out in the boondocks.

as long as you have room to work the jack stands should be fine, i would go with two separate pipes though as apposed to the H pipe, sounds better to me and less air flow restriction minimal difference but it all counts.
