well had a pretty busy weekend. reinstalled hard top yesterday and stripped down gearjammer88's old tire carrier that i bought from him here on the forum- sanded and repainted it. today gave her a good wash installed the carrier and spare and threw on a generic tire cover until i figure out what to do about that. nothing big just one of those little things to get one step closer. trying to capture everything i do from here on out and share the experience. now i'm moving on to blades old center console when it arrives and THEN the really expensive stuff...

i love having a removable top even if it is a pain- 2 totally different looks.

yeah it does sucking how much work it is to put them on and off. But it is nice to be able to do that. Wish I have a tire carrier I have the stupid insideone.

yeah i probably would be interested. straight trade. although we would have to talk shipping. outside tire carrier weighs around 70 lbs. so ship is around $60.

also i know you have the holes for the carrier. but do you have the piece that mounts to the tailgate? the one that goes here:

cause i am missing that part and had to buy a whole new rack just to get it. doesn't mean you'll have to- i'm just new to where i live and don't know any good yards really out here yet. if you have it then you're good to go if not and you have some yards around you can probably pick it up cheap. or eventually can find it. it is the bracket that the tire carrier bar snaps into.

anyhow i'm not too sure yet if i like having the carrier outside or not. i may do away with it after i paint her it's still up in the air.

let me know what you think. other than that top piece it's complete. it could use a quick coat of paint - like most of them. ove the years they look sorta dingy. i quick sanded and painted mine with a few coats for $5 and it looks brand new.
