Well this might sound dumb but how do you tell if you have a windsor or cleavland engine? They are both 351's right? Whats the difference? I thought I had a windsor, but my brother-n-law said they didn't make windsors for 1990 broncs. Would appreciate info. <)

The cleveland motor was only used from 1970 - 1974 it was only in cars . Your windsor motor was used from 1969 to 1997 . It was used in cars and trucks . Windsor 351,s look very similar to a 302 upper radiator hose comes out of the very front of the intake cleveland motors look very identicle to a 351M/400 and the upper radiator hose comes up out of the front of the block . Do a search in the forums I have posted many times the differences between the 2 . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

you may have a modified. the windsor & modified have big plugs & the cleavland has little plugs. in my book the cleavland is the better motor. had a 351 cleavland in a 69 mustang and that was one mean mule.

The spark plug size is really irrelavent . There are big plug and small plug windsor heads . I have only had one set of big plugs heads though think they were like 1970 302 heads which are the same as the windsor heads except for the bolt hole size difference 7/16 for 302 and 1/2 for 351 but you can drill out the 302 bolt holes to 1/2 and they will bolt right on to the 351 . As for the cleveland being a good motor I think so I have one on the stand right now all done up waiting to go in a 99 ranger 4X4 should be fun . A cleveland and a modified and a 400 for that matter will look identicle sitting side by side at first glance and the only way youll be able to tell a cleveland from the other 2 is by the motor mount locating and bell housing pattern . A 351C shares the exact same motor mount design and placement and bell housing pattern as a 289/302/351W so besides the exhaust being huge it will fit in where any of these motors was . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
