I couldn't find any threads on anybody doing big block swaps. I am wondering if it has been done ? what was the result ? are there kits? or is this just a dumb idea ? I have a tired 71 302-3spd and a fresh hipo 460-c6 with transfer case gathering dust. any feedback would be appreciated.

Like Ricks73eb said, very heavy. I have seen 3 460s in EBs and I have a friend who is building a Hi-Po EFI 460. The main thing is that you have to change everything in the running gear. The D44 isn't really strong enough for that kind of power and unless you keep your foot out of it, you will be twisting light duty axles in half every time you touch the gas in a binded or torqued situation. Most of the ones that I have seen with that big of an engine/type of power all have 1 ton or bigger axles. Lots of fabrication and when you can just slide a 351 in place of the 302/289, that makes those swaps a lot simpler.
