Hey, mistakes happen, ya know?
'sides, evrybody don't count so good dese days-witout a calculator.

(Feel lucky it wasn't a typo-then you might've gotten 1.6 of 'em!)
It's that common core math💩 at work.
I wouldn't mind if they send me another 1.6- I can 'file 13' the remnant & still good to go.
The straggler made it here today, just finished the setup. Zero lash & then 3/4 of a turn.
A little different then what I'm use to on the older stuff.
Now can get serious about fitting the coil pack and other exhaust manifolds related things.
Beginning to see daylight at the end of the tunnel- just hope it ain't no train.

Today I'm getting plates and a jug of fuel for my 79 frankenbronco, first trip on the road tonight! I get the tunnel thing!
By the looks of your progress, you will be fine!
......(But keep an eye out for that train!):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Will do.
Struck out on the oem drive gear for the distributor. Dealer shows a complete replacement unit for $200 (Nope!)
Kind of irritating is no parts breakdown for that and research shows aftermarket replacement gears have a different offset where the roll-pin goes thru vs Oem.

From the looks of it, I'd have to steal everything off my 250- cannibalism is NOT on the option list.
May have to scour a local salvage yard to see if anything '92+ is available that still has the complete harness.
Sure would be a score to find a '94+ and end up with all the mass air stuff to go with that plus the remote ign module setup. 🤞
I guess it won't be such a huge deal to swap out the drive gears if that's what it comes to, that and the McCully remote upgrade.
Unless one of the senior techs out there knows otherwise, this is the most likely course that will be followed.
Took a lot of elbow grease to get a intake cleaned up after 25+ years of crud buildup.
Looks like the last revision on this particular part was in '88 by the casting #, so may install this one and run it.
Will be doing a detailed inspection of what's on the jalopy-motor just to make sure.

That manifold sure does look nice when its clean.

Now if you had a WHOLE LOT of extra time and energy..........

When I was much younger and dumber, I remember spending umpteen hours grinding and polishing whole areas on my second highrise Edelbrock, the thermostat housing, the fuel pump, the distributor body, and the top side of the alternator for my '67 fastback just so they'd look better with the chromed pulleys, fender cross braces assorted brackets, voltage regulator cover, and the low profile domed, chrome air cleaner.
There's just nothing quite like having to wear sunglasses INSIDE the garage when you're timing an engine.

And now we pause for more then a brief moment of 🤬 cursing and swearing......
(Somehow I just Knew this was gonna happen)

L- here's that 'Train' I was concerned about.

So now the search for the proper 1" spacer gets started. 😑
This mock-up is using a '97 plenum.
It's interesting that the PCV tap is not there on this unit. Not sure when that revision was made.
Anyone know if there are any other differences in the plenum design between the early 90s vs the later Last Ones?

Drove the sludge-o-matic engine around some more.
That Rislone oil treatment works!
Started getting severe needle-wobble on the oil pressure gauge- shutdown!
Took the oil filter off, it must weigh 5 lbs by now.
Put on a shortie Walmart cheap filter and ok again.
That fresh oil with 12 miles on it looks like it came out of a Old diesel engine.
😝ick
When #8 decides to light up, the motor does run pretty good and the E4OD has loosened back up where it's not stalling the engine every time it's thrown in D.

Even odds it was post '94 when the roller motors appeared.
Were changing more around like the air-in-manifold stuff to, trying to squeeze everything they could out of the pushrod motor before hatchet 🪓 time.

Looks like I've painted myself into a corner with this build. Nobody out there seems to make a spacer gizmo for this particular OEM manifold setup.
Custom fab, here we come. 😕

A quick stack-on, plenum sits down & clears everything just right.
So, it goes to local industry next....🔫

<edit/update: 1.5 weeks out ⏰>️

More 'hurry-up-and-wait'.....so, nadda. 😑

Back & forth to the 📬 mailbox.
Header fitting on the F4 motor complete-
studs were definitely the way to go on that end.

Removed the back seat, clean & apply de-rusto to affected components. Stored seat in the attic since it's not really needed for now. Makes for a fair amount of area- & must be 70 lbs lighter.
4X module tested good, so looks like a fresh actuator is in the hopper.

Instead of useing the steel taps on it. Try useing brass ones and put 2 on each stud. To keep them from backing off or lock washers.

Good idea, JR
I went with a set that has serrated base locknuts, so the things shouldn't back off easy. If that happens, lock-washers will be added.
