What Dana 30 Gears??

Rebuilding a Dana 30 front, stock 41.10 gears. Question is what type would I have? This is a '66 with everything stock. Finding mentions of a 'reverse' gear set. And gear sets with TJ listed, etc.

If ordering from a supplier what would we be telling them?

Reverse gear sets are for Differentials that have units available for front and rear applications. If its for the front you will need a reverse gear set. But you shouldnt have to worry too much about how you ask, just tell them the ratio you want, the year, and what diff they are.

Thanks for the excellent response. Reason I ask is I've been offered a set but didn't know if rear would work for front. Now I know.......... Ours has a couple of chips in the ring, been there for many years. Don't do heavy off roading, just wander a bit here in Missouri, so not really sure if we want to spend the bucks to replace, or just go for the bearings replacement.

the r is for reverse rotation which is used in high pinion setups. your bronco should not need the reverse rotation and a set from the a rear end would work but broncos don't have dana 30 in the rear. maybe a jeep or scout.
