I have a small problem I am swaping in a C6 in place of my old AOD trans. the neutral safety switch on the AOD has a 5 pin conector that controls starting and the backup lights . The C6 has a 4 wire switch that controls the same functilons . I need to know what to do to make the c6 switch work with the AOD Harness. I would prefer not having to wire my back up lights to a toggle switch

I would consult the Haynes/Chilton manual for wirng diagrams for your year model and the year model of the C-6 donor. I'm going thru the same process on my 88 460/C6 swap for the 84 351w **/C6, JSM84

Thats an easy one . Ford hasnt changed those wire colors ever . There are 4 wires out of your C6 2 that are black with a purple stripe and 2 that are red with a white stripe ( If I remember correctly ) Anyway the 2 black are for the backup lights and the 2 red are for neutral safety . I would first make sure the C6 switch is good to save some agrevation later . Take an ohm meter or powered test light and put between the 2 black wires when you put the tranny in reverse you will get a light / beep / short shown on the meter or test light so reverse is good now go to the red ones and do the same except now you will get the results with the tranny in park or neutral so now you know its operating correctly so you dont have to pay $50 bucks for one like I did the parts store should also have the pigtail that plugs into the switch so you can do the job right . Now just cut the plug off your harness for the AOD and I would solder and shrink wrap the new plug on so it doesnt corrode . Just match up the wire colors black with purple to the matching ones and so on and it will work fine :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
