If the shifter itself moves freely then it may be internal the shift forks inside have nylon pads that ride on the slide gears if they wear out it will get hard to shift . That style case the shifter bolts to the T case adapter with one bolt that acts as the pivot bolt for the shifter then there is a fork at the end of it with a round bushing that fits in the fork and has a hole in it where the shifter arm pin goes through it . Be careful with that bushing they are kinda brittle and dealer only . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Take that pivot bolt out then spray lots of WD or whatever you have . Get it out and pull straight up away from the fork bushing at the end and it should stay on the Tcase as long as it dont break . Once you have it off take the pivot bolt out of the shifter once you get it out look in there and you will see a plastic bushing it has a cut through it take it out then take scotch brite or sand paper and clean the hole out really good then put the bushing back in a grease it up really good then clean the bolt up and grease it good you should now be able to move the bolt in the shifter hole by hand now just reassemble onto tranny if its hard to move after reinstalled then you may have problems in the T case you can also remove trhe shifter bushing from the T case and grab the arm with channel locks and you should be able to move it through all its gears pretty easily one click at a time . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
