Ok.. this might be stupid to even ask.

I know the Broncos run 31's... but there are a lot of tires out there that I dont understand the measurements of, like 270's, 285's, etc.

What size would be close to the 31's or equivalent... just trying to scope out my tire size options.

well the 275/75 r 15.....the 275 is the tread width in MM....the 75 is called the aspect ratio, it means the sidewall is 75% of the tread measurement (the 275 in this case) and the 15 is of coarse the rim size.

Ok... with that in mind.. anyone know of a good heavy tread tire that doesn't cost an arm and a leg that is decent in loose soil, mud, etc?

I recommend the BF Goodrich Mud Terrains... They are a pretty aggressive tire.. and the cost is low...

Im not sure if you have a Costco Wholesale Store by you, but if you do, that is the best place to get them...

May I recommend 33x12.5 R15 Thats what I had on 2 of my Broncos. My 90 had no lift at all, they fit perfect with the exception of minor radius arm rub. My 89 had a 3 inch body lift with the same size and they looked awesome. But with the same radius arm rub.

If you want zero rubbing but a good meaty tire a 33X11.5R15 will fit and have no eadius arm rub. Maxxis makes Buckshot mudders and they are cheaper than a BFG but if you are willing to spend a little more get the BFG's they can't be beat for price and performance.

I run 33x12.50 R15 ELDORODO ZR4's there AT's but with only a 2.5 lift they fit perfect and like yardape was saying only a little mild radius rub under extreme turns....and are not real expensieve.... B)
