Been having a lot of trouble finding all of the pieces for the spare tire mount on my '83, especially the retainer plate. So I went to work designing my own. Took a few design iterations to get it right, but the current version is doing pretty good. Made it out of ABS plastic so it should be decently strong and weather/UV resistant. I designed it with some 1/4" holes for bolts to mount a steel plate to add in a lock bracket. Figure I could get some weld-on studs and special tamper-resistant nuts to make it more secure. Might have to slightly relocate the bolt holes, though. They could be too close to the edge and allow the nuts to be too easily grabbed by pliers. But that's something to worry about later on.

Nice job!
I am working on a period correct appearing bezel to mount my auto 4X4 control switch and the heated seat controls in my 79. (Still in the rendering phase I admit.)
That looks awesome!
Cheers
