Tailgate latches

My tailgate latch on the right side will not lock. When I close it by hand, it locks and works fine but when I close it, nothing. I've sprayed it with wd-s0 and worked it, I've moved the striker all around. It used to work, and just up and stopped. Any ideas, guys?
