striped recline gear on split bench seat quick repair

Hello!

I wanted to share how I stopped my seat from reclining back.

I was told the seat was out of an Explorer.

When I sat in the seat it would recline all the way back by itself.

I looked at it and noticed that the tiny teeth where stripped and it did not look like it would be easy to replace.

I thought I would put a 1" bolt in the ****** and it works great.

I cant recline the seat back but so what, The repair cost $ .47

I added a picture showing the placement of the bolt.

Also a picture of one without.

I had to do the same thing to my old f250. Works great for a quick fix that would otherwise have resulted in a very crappy ride. Thanks for the tip
