I have been told that the steering linkage on the '73 Broncos were better than the type used on the 76 & 77s. Is this true?

I am moving the front end from a 76 donor to my '73 and I was told to keep the '73 steering linkage because it was better. I understand that the '73 linkage would need to be altered to fit the '76 axel but would it be worth it? The vehicle will be used as an everyday driver with medium off road use. The off road use will be quail hunting in the Mojave Desert.

Thanks.

I think is better to keep the 73 steering, some benefits: no bump steer, less geometry disalignments on all suspension travel, more stability on lifted vehicles, more rigid and less components.

Actually this weekend a friend of mine get a a 73 steering for my 76 and I will be replacing it this week.

What Pericon said...!

But to answer,.....for what you're doing, it won't matter. Either will work fine.

With a lift, or rough terain....the orig. set-up is best.

Thanks for the advice. I thinking that I might use the '76 but keep the '73 in case my use changes.
