90 f150 302 any input what could cause my bogging/surging miss fire problem all new tune up new fuel pump losing my mind with this heap it is actually in mint condition just needs a little work thanks for the help :wacko:

Maybe a clogged fuel filter, dirty injectors, or maybe a clogged cat. Just a few things to check for.

A faulty or dirty Idle Air Control (IAC) valve sounds like the problem. You can clean it, and check for codes, but it's fairly cheap to replace.

I have an 88 f150 that had hesitations and surging and no end of drivability

problems. Was fixed by accident when alternator was replaced .The original

problem occured when the wiring connector at back was disconnected, and

and not replaced with new connector. Alert in box with new alternator

warned of possible drivability problems if connector was not replaced.

If you had work done on or around alternator and connector was removed,

check out connector
