my headliner kit arrives next week on tuesday so that's my next thing to do. i'll take some pics i think it'll turn out nice. cept now my visors will look totally faded  /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />. so for my next 2 projects after that i need some input:

1) shocks. this is where i'm kind of confused so forgive me here and my rear shocks are worn and need replacement. i've beena truck man for a long time but this is my first 4x4 i've owned. i don't think the truck has been lifted and right now i'm not going to lift it. as is it sits pretty tall ot tall enough for me at this time. so here's where i get confused. does the bronco (90 xlt 302- 4 front shocks) have a factory lift? and does that come into play when buying shocks? i'm thinking rancho or pro comp so do i buy shocks with 0 lift or if it has some factroy lift do i take that into account? this is for daily driving and hopefully soon a little occassional off roading once i find someplace- nothing major though.

2) external mirrors- yeah i know seems kinda *** but, i'm trying to go as close to original as i can. the external side views on my 90 look kind of "rounded"- they're the plain manual style- with big metal brackets. but, i can't tell if the previous owner replaced the mirror heads on them or not because when i go to say LMC they have 2 styles for the 1990. one rounded, one sort of squared. both claim "original or OE style replacement". anyone know or have a pic of theirs? getting these done means i'm one step closer to completing.

after that- bumpers, seat reupholstery, tracking down spare tire carrier parts, the soft top (nice but, i still have my hard top so it's not my top priority. and i'm pretty close to being done cosmetically. after the engine and tranny rebuild i want to repaint original YY white. getting closer...

thanks.

Shocks, use one that is 70/30 meaning 30% on compression so it uses the coil and not so much shock to decrease stiffness. 70% on rebound to control the rebound spring (bounce) in the coil. On full size rigs you might want duals. Just don't go get dual Rancho 5000's and live with a stiff ride. You probably only need one Rancho 5000 per corner as they are over ****.

Not sure on the mirrors but I like Motorcycle mirrors so they can mount where ever and swing away to keep aways from harms way. I use them on my 68 so I don't need doors and can swing them up away for trail runs.

I would stay with the metal brackets and Broncoholics is right on with the shocks. I just replaced mine. Really easy

yeah i want to stay with the metal brackets.

sorry if this is a dumb question but, are you're saying on the front four shocks just replace 2 of them with ranchos? the front ones or the rear ones (up front) as there are 2 per axle up front? what about the other 2 in front? the previous owner has 4 monroes up there and 2 in the back. the fronts are good the rears bad. so i thought i would replace them all. so if i understand what you're saying which i totally may not, should i just replace 2 of the fronts (1 on each side) with say a rancho and keep the other 2 fronts monroes till they go bad? or if i do replace all 6 what should i put in the other 2 spots? and again should the ranchos up front go in the front spots or the back spots. i assume front.

are the front shocks as easy to replace as the rear? they look a little intimidating. the rears should be a cake walk.

anyone have a hands on opinion on the pro comp shocks? from what i've read they're pretty good but, i gues you can't go wrong with rancho.

you only NEED one at each corner. So it;s up to you. have two on each looks cool and will probably give you alittle better ride. but if it's not for the look only, i would just go with 1 in each corner.
