removing a hardtop

hey im new and this is my first bronco.. ive had it for 3 months and its in great condition, its a 76 and is uncut, its automatic and has the ranger trim package.. what im trying to do now is remove the hard top, after taking a look at it i was looking for help or tips before i start unscrewing things and tearin stuff up. As far as i know the top has never been off before and if you know what your doin id sure like some advice

Expect the gaskets to be damaged upon seperation...they're not cheap but available. (sometimes they live thru it)

Several bolts along the top of windshield frame & more on the bed rails.

All have nut-plates....you may need PB-Blaster if your rig has lived in moisture.

There's a locator post in ea. of the rear bed rail holes that need bolts removed as well.

Then two men & a small boy to lift it up & off. :wacko:

Upon replacement, I like to place 2x4's on the bed rails to save your fingers when it settles in place. b-(

Go ahead and order you some new rubber for the front and sides. You can get it several places. I got mine from LMC.
