Rear-end swap

83', 300/4sp Rug, 3.5 ratio 9" w/autolocker in the rear, and the front is a TTB w/LS diff.

My rear axle housing is bent and sense I don't wheel this Bronco I would like to replace it with an modern 8.8 from a junk yard, is this an easy swap and can the disc brakes be used on my stock Bronc?

Yes it will bolt right in , There are conversion kits for the 8.8 to disk look in the back of petersons 4 wheel and youll find a company there selling the brackets and rotors for like $265 . The only other thing your going to run into is the driveshaft the 9 inch has a yoke and the 8.8 has a ****** . /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

id put a nine inch back in and reuse the locker.

There is a company called SteelTech Solutions Inc- They are out of Marion,IL- I have a disc conversion on the back of my 90 full size with a 9"- it uses 1985 cadillac rear calipers and I think the rotors are from a 1985 lincoln mark 7- I'm not sure of the rotors but I know the calipers are rite- the phone # 618-997-4238- This company sells brackets and all- there is another company called Master Power that I used on my Barracuda, but I have no info for them

If I can find a late model rearend with disc on it aready will it bolt up and can I use those discs?

i dont think it will. i would stick with the 9in, there great axles, easy to work on, and every where has parts for them.
