Hello, I am really new, as in I know near nothing about buying vintage cars/trucks. But have wanted a bonco since I was 12 years old. I have the oppertunnity to buy a 1969 bronco sport, mostly original except for some minor thing(cut and very small lift). It has a 302 and 3 on the tree. Terrible camo (hand brushed paint job) and is mostly in working order but needs some seerious TLC, mostly cosmetic. The askimg price is $4500, but since it is in "Fair" to "medium fair" condition, this seems a little high. Any adivice would be greatly appreciated. Is there anything I should have inspected or look for? Thanks for you help in advance.

Thanks for the help, do you think I should spend the money on a local mechanic to put it on a lift stand? Or is crawling underneath it enough?

Sounds good...!

Just keep in mind, there's nothing mysterious about an EB. They're old school, tried-n-true equipment.

Dana 30's/44's & Ford 9" rears have been 'round forever. Same with trannies & transfr. case.

And again, the same for the engines....

On a lift is great.., but you can see all you need on a creeper.

Steering ,king-pins, steering box, brakes, can be checked...& all are easily fixable.

Common problems are; fuel & brake lines, dirty carb, radiator issues. Distrib./timing issues.

If lifted, suspension rubber has probably been taken care of.

Have fun with that...!
