I have an 82 ford bronco my pride and joy.

If you are talking about the Rotor. I took a look at it yesterday it is grayish and black on one end. Im thinkng that is not good and I am going to replace that. Is there any way for me to test the rest of the system. Im just trying to make sure I cover all the bases before I start working on my bronco in 18 degree weather.

No not the Rotor. The electronic doo hicky under the rotor. I think its called an ICM or a CDI or something like that. Damn I need to back to school

How do I test it to make sure it is working?

I am not all that good at the testing process, I was kinda hoping someone would jump in and give you some pointers as to how to test, but to tie you over until someone speaks up. Try first of all checking if you have spark. You can unhook the coil wire and place it about a half inch from the hole in which it plugs, crank the engine over and it should spark like crazy. You should be able to actually hear the sparking as well as see it.

check all of your fuses in the fuse box maybe just trying to help
