Just fixed a Busted Head Gasket Job - Now stalling out......

Hi,

I posted last month for a busted head gasket issue, and I just paid $1400 to have everything fixed. Apparently the guy I bought it from didnt tighten the coolant intake manifold tightly enough, and it caused the chain reaction to overheating the Engine.

My mechanic changed out the plugs, wires, machined the valves, flushed the coolant, replaced the gaskets, etc. I loaned the truck to my GF the day after I got it out of the shop, since her car broke down, and she said its been stalling out when she stops at red lights.

Any ideas what it could be with such superficial information? My uncle is a mechanic/bronco owner, and he said it could be that the fuel injection sensors were fried when it overheated, and this is the residual effect after they fixed everything else.

Anyone have any other ideas? again, thanks for all your help

It could be many things.One thing I would check or have checked are the vacuum lines because they get very brittle over time and can crack or break off or even melt.Starting in the eighties a lot of car makers started using color coded plastic vacuum lines.Many vacuum lines would of had to been removed or unplugged to do a headgasket job possably cracking or maybe even not being hooked back up at all. I had to replace a couple vacuum lines on my bronco when I got it because some were broken and just recently I guess because of vibration another one broke.You can have someone check for codes also.
