How would I go about Finding what My truck was equipped with from the factory? Engine, Tranny, Options ETC. Would I use the VIN# or Door plate?

Thanks, Josh

driver door jam should have a sticker with all the options on it. I heard that was a packet underneath the driver seat too. underneath the carper possibly? I don't know how true this is. But check the jam.

Yup, Miesk5 sourced that one for us. I called a couple months back & it took them 5 or 6 weeks but I ultimately got a letter from the Ford research division with a breakdown of the VIN and a list of everything the truck had been equiped with from the factory. It was basically all the info that would have been on the window sticker.

Also, just as a bit of trivia the 9th digit is just a ck digit to confirm that the VIN is legimate. Each of the other digits has an assigned value (A=1, B=2, C=3, etc) and it's *position* in the VIN has a weighted value (1st position=8, 2nd=7, 3rd=6, etc). You have to take each digits assigned value & multiply it by it's weight value. Do that for ALL the numbers in the vin, add them together & divide by 11. You'll get a number with a remainder, the *remainder* will be the same as the 9th position check digit if the VIN is valid.
