 Mike Here

I have been restoring a 70 wagon for the last few months and have finally gotten to puting the insterments back in. every thing seems to be hooked up as it was before I tore it apart but when i start the engine all my guages jump up to max reading. I have new sending units. Wiring, and Alternator. Not new Regulator or guage regulator. Will these items cause the guages to go wacko. any suggestions would be apreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Probe the volt. reg. on the back of panel....should be 12v on input side & 5-6v on the output.

Not a good thing to leave those gages pegged ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Did they (gages) work properly B/4 removed..? As in, why did you buy new senders..?

I Got a new every thing. New from the ground up.

When I got the bronco it had aftermarket gages under the dash. the previous owner may have had problems and had to install funky gages.

Thanks Bully Bob

Looks like the gage regulator was the problem. I removed it from the insterment housing, cleaned the connections including the mounting bracket and now the gages work just fine. Now I can move on to puting the rest of the dash back together. Ireally want to get ths project wrapped up. Day and night in the garage since early March. Even the Cat is ready to leave me.

Thank you for responding with whether or not a suggestion was helpful..!! :)>-

Most folks just move on, not realizing this info helps others as well as themselves.

That is one clean Bronco...! You're not going to drive it out of the garage are ya...? :)) Great job..!!
