won't used 4wd?

the tranfer case would still be engaged but wouldnt be applying any energy to the front axle not sure if it would fix the problem would releave the stress of the front wheels, but so would disengaging the hubs?

you would need to remove the transfercase and run a longer driveshaft from the trans to the rear end like a 2wd truck

if he isn't worried about wear on his transfer case(doesnt care about 4wd) will pulling the front drive shaft cause other problems?

Im assuming you would need to run in 4hi if you cant get it into 2, it probably wouldnt last to long at higher speeds over time

why not buy a used transfercase, ive seen them for cheap on craigslist

i had the same problem on my 94 EB..is it a push button 4x4 or a floor shifter. i have the push button and after a week long camping/off road trip and when i went to take it out of 4 wheel drive id did nothing. well long story short the motor that would engage and disengage 4x4 burnt out..its a cheaper fix and u should look in to that.

p.s well the transfer case was not made to go 50k miles at 50 mph..so id assume the transfer case will fail sooner than later. also you going to lose HP and TQ and MPG with the extra load of the transfer case mixed into the drive train. id say u fix it, it will cause more problems than it fixes.

forks inside the case are most likely bent or binding..if you want to convert to 2wd you can just put a 2wd trans in it with a new driveshaft...or just swap another case into your bronco and just dont use 4wd
