Gents,

Any ideas on what is going on? My 96 Bronco, 5.0, EFI, 302, E40D, has a check engine light on, the OD light on the shifter is flashing, and the truck hesitates before changing gears and it about tosses me into the windshield.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Pretty much with just about any Ford if your OD light is flashing it means that there is some sort of transmission problem (hence the hard shifting). Best place to start is having the codes read, you can get a loaner scan tool from some places like Autozone and do it yourself, or you can take it to just about any shop.

Should you find out what is happening, let me know. I have a similar issue with mine, except the OD light does not flash, and after the Bronoc warms up a bit, the check engine light goes off and the hard shifting stops. I did take mine to Ford, and they said unless the check engine stays constant, there is nothing they can do.
