i ran across a stock 460 and tranny for pretty cheap also found a 490 with granny 4spd tranny

i have a 351 now. i do alot of wheeling and so far have not been in a position where i needed more power but i still would like more power. would i come out cheaper doing a 460 swap or just building my 351? which would give me the most bang for the buck

Try putting " before and after your entry. Example, "460 motor" or "460 swap". Also, use the advanced search to choose a forum or all forums. Then, buy that 460 and a matching tranny to put in that Bronco, JSM84

I have done 460 swap in my F150 4x4 and i like haveing the power butit was a pain in the a$$ to fine all the bracks and acc. for the power steering and alt.Not to mention the added weight.I have 351 in my bronco and i am just goijg to leave it a small. You can always stroke the 351w you have and have planty of power and not have to change anything else. But fill it up more often.

I have a 301/1996 bronco /auto i am asking for info on a swap to 429 or 460.

No one around my town can help- no experience- let me know if you receive any info.

I don't think I can get what I want out of the 301

JSM84-

Thanks for the reply. I'm VERY new to this site and have no idea what I'm doing. How do I get to your post for information.?

My Bronco is a 96 with a 301 engine. Do you think there would be any similarity in the swap that you did?

Sure, no problem. Up at the right-top of the page, under the Bronco Zone banner, is tab for Search. Click it, and type in "460 swap". It will list all of the threads on the subject including mine:

http://broncozone.com/forums/index.php?sho...amp;hl=460+swap

I'll be glad to answer any questions in that thread on the actual swap. And i think your stock motor would be the Ford 302 cid. but in any case the 460 will fit with adapter motor mounts for your engine, and a 460 transmission. JSM84
