YepSame thing?
Good deal, the cheaper the better.
You got another ****** awardDropped the gas tank on my 78 and found for the 2nd time--Another fuel sending unit --with the FLOAT EATEN UP=-----BUY ETHANOL GAS. ETHANOL GAS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED----YOUR BETTER OFF ****** IN THE TANK. It the cause of alot of problems people are having with ALL OF THE GASOLINE ENGINES.
Nice! I was going to suggest a piece of black pvc or pex, but nice save!
I swear, every day we get a bit more like cuba!
You got another ****** award, J-R!
I believe it might be better if you Don't BUY
ethanol gas for that old timer. Most pumps here in Texas have that hi-dollar Regular️ option now.
I found the Regular-regular here local (Texarkana area) a few cents cheaper per gal. last week and jumped on that deal. I sure won't get use to it. 10-1 says it's way back up over the Eth again this week.
Evidently those chinese replacements you get are made to the original spec material that was not Eth compatible.
Hey- gotta give them small yellow folks a little credit for a faithful reproduction in that area.
Ifn there's no Regular to be had around your neck of the woods, keep a jug of fuel additive handy and get in the habit of dumping some in Every time you get fuel. That's all I can think of to prevent another repeat performance.
I tend to agree, Eth is no bueno for the older stuff and small engines. They just were not made for it. Automotive started getting up to s n u f f on it when the 90s rolled around but the small engine components lagged way behind catching up. I still wouldn't leave that crud in a small engine tank for very long to this day, no matter if it's a brand new unit. Burnit and/or treat it.
The late generation of hot-rodders has found Eth to be a bonus running on the street as it helps with detonation issues.
Not much of a help from where we are at and regret to hear you got bit....again. Maybe there's a replacement out there for that old one that's more Eth compatible. (That'll give a parts flunkie a good chase!)
Hang in there, like the saying goes- maybe 3s the charm![]()
Ive never experienced a vehicle to quit from eth-gas.....yet. Only carb vehicle i have is that old '81 Toyota with a 20/22R under the.hood and i have to keep 92 hi-test in itI also had to replace the fuel pump. They do have regular gas hear--10 miles away. Wednesday I,ll start buying it. I took a picture of the damage it does and was talking to a friend---how sometimes it makes your vehicle quit running. I wonder when you hear about these multi car pile ups---how many were caused buy ethenal gas. ? I hate that stuff.
Well believe me when the float and filter gets eaten up and the rubber in the fuel pump gets mushy and weak---it will stop the motor from running. Take a empty coke bottle and fill it half way with ethanol gas and look at it in a couple of weeks-shake it---it looks like rubber. Then tell me what do you think of it. In due time---you,ll find out about it. The farmers who are getting rich from it--later on might have to pay people for all the damaged their ethanol gas causes.Ive never experienced a vehicle to quit from eth-gas.....yet. because of the compression.
Not saying that doesn't affect others, but carbs are a endangered species these days and most Efi systems were designed with alt. fuels in mind.
Why folks won't slow down on those freeways when the fog gets thick is something that just does not compute. Never saw anything like that until 2001. Sure has killed a lot of folks.
Ok, what did I do with the Bronc today-
I Drove It.
Still trying to get the motivation going to do the gear indicator micro-cable replacement. Maybe next week
Look on the brite side- you have one thing less to worry about........ but if you get sick, you'll end up with 2 things to worry aboutI got done putting a new fuel pump, and sending unit in my bronco. I used SEABRONCO idea and cut a whole in the cargo area over the gas tank,. In case I have to replace the fuel sending unit again. It was a pain to get the tank lined up,but finally got it all back together--except putting the fuel line on. I,ll do that tomorrow if the creek don,t rid\se and the Lords willing.
