Ok, I'll be first to take a stab in the dark. I guess the short answer is so what ? I'd guess somewhere in the 300lb range apeice but the longer answer says why ask ? Cool, what do I win ?Does anyone know how much a dana 60 complete and a sterling 10.25 would weigh together. All I need is a good guess. Thanks
thnx much JSM!Maybe for shipping estimates? I would've guessed 500 lbs, but it's Miesk5 to the rescue. good job, bro!!! JSM84
Actually I was going to bid on a dana 60 but the guy said he figured shipping at 500 lb I wanted to make sure before I bid on the axle. Thanks for your input though.Ok, I'll be first to take a stab in the dark. I guess the short answer is so what ? I'd guess somewhere in the 300lb range apeice but the longer answer says why ask ? I can't imagine you're worried about Gross Vehicle Weight and if unsprung weight is what's on your mind then rig a set of limiting straps (which you should really do *anyways* they way you're talking) and be done with it. I'm not trying to be flippant but it's late & I've been watching football all day (read into that what you will) and I'm just wondering why tou care. Sure it's always nice to have more weight on the bottom of your rig than the top but the unsprung weight is the only thing I can imagine you're concerned about (and who knows whatthat will be until you figure out you tires) but the only way I've ever seen that dealt with was with aluminum rims and limiting straps.
Thanks man, I won the bid on e-bay and luckily im a UPS Freight employee because I get a sweet discount!1979 Ford F250 Dana 60 FrontTotal Weight: 450 lbs-from an e bay seller
Weight, fully dressed single wheel front Ford RC 60 complete, locking hub to hub 460-480lbs

10.25 inch Weight Estimates;
10.25 weighs exactally 361 pounds, 100% complete from drum to drum with no oil in it. The D70 would probably be around 20 pounds more from the thicker tube and bigger gear
