OK, still researching an engine. I think I've found a 351W crate engine I want.

The water pump intake on this engine is on the left side. I've already spent the money for an aluminum radiator from the Graveyard (even though it only went 2 months before leaking). If the radiator can be fixed, I'd like to reuse it.

Will a 302 water pump fit the 351W? If not, does anybody have any plumbing suggestions?

If the radiator only lasted two months, I'd be calling Jeff's. Do a little name dropping, like you are a member of the Bronco Zone. I don't think it will really be necessary to do that to get their attention, since they are usually pretty good at trying to help.

Is the oradiator outlet on the left side? If so, you can probably use a stock lower hose.

Good luck,

:)>-

Yes, you can swap pumps. The Windsor has a taller deck height so it has a wider manifold which is why intakes don't interchange. The distrubitor & oil pan are also engine-specific and will not swap but heads, bellhousings & most importantly (for you at least) so do timing chain covers. I have to admit that I've never personally swapped a 302 for a Windsor but I've had friends that did and I remember beadblasting a 302 cover that was powdercoated & installed on the Windsor with a new pump but the bottom line is that the pump bolts to the timing cover & if the covers swap then so do the pumps.

There shouldn't be any reason why your local radiator shop can't braze the leak for you but SeaBronc was right, after just 2 months Jeff's should be more than happy (well, maybe not happy but certainly *willing*) to swap it out for you. I've only had a handfull of problems with anything that I've bought from them and one night a few years ago I was orginizing my reciepts and all my Graveyard reciepts and at that point I'd spent just under $7K buying parts from them. I'd find a way to slip the BroncoZone name in there. It rarely pays to be too agressive at the start but I'd say something like "the guys on the BroncoZone website that originally told me to check with you for the part suggested calling you back to swap it out.". They've worked hard to establish their good name and they want to keep it. Last thing you want to do is start off by threateneing them but be subtle and let them know that you participate in a forum that they themselvs support. They're good guys and they should replace the radiator for you.

I never even tried to call the Graveyard. Even though the radiator went bad after only a couple of months of use (and probably less than 150 miles), I bought it at least a year before installing it. (I wasn't working on the project fast enough to keep up with the parts I was buying).

Oh, owch. I've *done* that and it hurts. It's one of the drawbacks to building your truck as time & money allow. On the one hand you could say that it's at least WORTH a call since all they can do is say no and on the other hand maybe it has one or two year warranty or maybe they'll actually feel bad about sending you a $hitty radiator and want to do the right thing. You'll probably spend less than $2 on the phone call and an Email will be free. I didn't see anything about a warranty on the radiator page but I'd had one of their rebuilt steering boxes in a 78' for close to or better than a year then the steering shaft developed a crack 80% of the way thru it and they sent me a new one. As always, your milage may vary. If nothing else, it's a REAL radiator made out of honest-to-God metal so any radiator shop should be able to boil & braze it for you at a reasonable cost
