I'm looking to replace my stock 3 speed manual in my 71 bronco sport. I'm looking for an 88 - 93 C4 AOD tranny. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a good core? I've found I can buy an adaptor kit to make the tranny bolt up to my Dana 30. Has anyone done this before? If so I would like to know if you have any recommendations. I plan to go with a 4.56 gear and 35" tires and put the tranny behind a rebuilt 302 putting out around 350 HP. I welcome any comments on this project and any help finding a tranny would be much appreciated. I'm in TX between Dallas an Houston.

A c4 and an aod are a different animal, a c4 is a 3spd auto car tranny. If you want an over drive the aod is a good choice because its not controlled by the computer.

I didn't know that. I was told to look for a C4 AOD Tranny and that an 88-93 was a good year for them. What do you suggest that I try to find in an AOD for 35" tires, 4.56 gears, and on a 302 with 350 - 375 HP coupled to a Dana 20?

I would just grab the aod out of a Bronco with a 302. i would steer clear of the e40d cause you would need to figure out a speed sensor setup.
