My fellow brothers, Just wanted to see what everyone is running? I'll be doing a couple of performance mods within the next few months to my stock '78 and as far as the valve covers go, just kinda wanted to dress it up a little bit. I've got the new 4bbl carb and intake right now sitting in my room. Next is a comp cam. Wasnt sure what headers though, or valve covers. Its a 400M.

Just wanna see what others are running and any helpful advice. Thanks fellas!

Hi Dog..,

B4 you get to deep into this.. & I'm sure some on this board can spell this out for you.

IMHO.,

Engine, carb/intake, cam, headers, timing need to be "compatable" ..!!

You can actually lose performance if this is not done correctly.

I would suggest you "GOOGLE/YAHOO" Ford small block 400 engines.

There you will find what the pros know & do to these engines.

For example the wrong headers can cost you low end torgue.

Yeah, I've been trying to research everything that could work ever since I got my hands on it. The post was just to see what everyone has had that works and what doesnt with their 400M.

If you can (I didnt) Put the extra buck out for ceramic..EVERY set of headers Ive gotten over the years that had just the black paint, burned off within a couple of hours. After that, they start to rust, look like shit, and start to fall apart..I know when I build the 460.Im getting the fenderwell headers from bronco graveyard,And not the painted ones.

Yeah, I took a look at the ceramic hedman headers, they were nice but pricy and the ones on jbg only have the black coated ones for 400M 
