Hey Bob,

I am actually thinking of lowering my EB and making it a daily 'Roadster'.

Interested to know what lift / springs / leafs / shocks you had on the U-13 truck ?

My truck has been heavily cut - so i am wondering if I can drop to stock height with 33's on it ??

I would also want to firm up the ride - for street fun... /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Monza.

Oh-oh....., You'll have to re-do all that "fine-tuning" on your track-bar..!! Great "how to" post BTW.

Your 3.5 is a good lift...assuming it has the 11pak rear.

"Interested to know what lift / springs / leafs / shocks you had on the U-13 truck?"

When I bought it., it was "stock" factory suspension. I did the lift only because the radius arm bushings were exploding. Thought I'd go up 2.5 while it was apart.

This lift rides & handles just like the stock setup.(11pak rear... progressive coils front, a step above OEM shocks)

IMHO, 33's with no lift would look like old-school roller-skates.

Where's your pics of this rig...??

PO WH 11 pack rear / BC 3.5 front / WH Shocks (I think).

Gotta admit I am unsure about lowering.

My REASON is how unstable (wobbly) the whole truck is.

I am trying to make this thing more stable - so the wife can use it as a backup when I am at work. @-) (Thats life for ya).

My thinking is to reduce movement and sway coming from the extra lift and springs.

Maybe the best first step is to renew the shocks with a decent firm 2" - 4" shock, then I can always lower to a 2" later IF the shocks dont stabilize the truck.

Any ideas on whether the shocks are the most likely contributor to wobbly truck ?

Recommends on cheap quality shocks to firm it all up ?

( I guess i should say that this truck doesn't do any serious wheeling )

I see JBG has $33 and Deutsche at $44

I can get a full set Rancho 500 for $160 delivered.

WH are $40 each.

TBP offer Pro Comp at $34 - I havent chased the spec yet tho.

I bet Duffs are overpriced...

The Deutsche Tech have the biggest Cylinder and Shaft...

Monza.

I seriously doubt it's the lift.

I would be suspicious of the steering (box & shaft)

Then the lift kit installed properly (C-bushings i.e. right ones & facing the right way) -- EQUALS -- proper caster.

Then the proper toe-in.

Tires not seperated/worn....wheel balance.? Bad 33's can create havoc.

Seriously doubt the shocks are bad...take the front ones off & push down on ther floor & see how they function.

Another test would be to get your hands on 4 nearly stock tires & wheels.

If things really improve...you know the rest of the story.

Actually, you should start a new post as we're getting of subject, if you didn't already.

Agreed - I might take this to a new post.

When I say wobble - maybe I should say bounce - I mean I can easily set the whole body bouncing up and down just by pushing down with one hand - so out on the road it gets quite lively...

Didnt mean mechanical / steering type wobble.

Sorry.
