My '74 EB with a 302 3-speed floor shift has an intermittent problem with the transfer case slipping out of gear (2H). This usually happens when I go over a bridge that has a slight **** that gives a porpoise feel to the ride or it has happened on a flat surface of road when I'm cruising along at about 60mph.

Has anyone fixed this problem by replacing the spring that puts tension on the shift rods in the transfer case? Any good source for these replacement springs? I thought I would try this before swapping out the transfer case with another one that I have.

Thanks for any input...

try replacing those springs.. also take a look and make sure your shifter locking tab isnt worn down. If your using the stock "T" style shifter, there are locking tabs that help keep it in gear. I had the same problem
