Hoping to find the help I need guys and gals. I have a '66 and swaped in a C4 and mated to my Stock dana 20 case (freshly rebuilt) with an Advanced adapters kit.

My tranny fluid is going into my trasfercase. I have spoke to few places and I have replaced the seal in the housing and it is still going through. I don't know what to do now that I have all this money in the setup. I did notice on the original Dana 20 coupler the accepts the shaft from the C4 has a tiny tiny tiny pin size hole machined into the base of it about where the seal would be. Does any one have a stock dana 20 apart that they could confirm this is the way it should be?

Has anyone ever had this kind of fluid problem besides me?

One last note: I did the required shortening of the transfercase coupler like needed but also had to shorten the new transmission shaft in the kit to keep it rom bottoming out inside the coupler and allow everything to mate together.

Looking for any help. Please I have to get this thing on the road to take some trips not just drive around the neighborhood.

Geese...!

That's a nice rig...!! .. & yah., gotta get that baby out & get it dirty....

Not an expert on Trannies., especially autos but., the (double lip) seal in the adaptor tells the story the way I see it.

There shouldn't be no way for either fluid to move to the other gear box.

The rear bearing in the adaptor is lubed by the T-case...everything forward of that is trannie oil.

Could one or the other (output shaft or seal) be the wrong size...?

Could there be some pressure build-up in the trannie that's blow'n by the seal..?

-------- Hopefully someone with trannie background will chime in here ------

Thanks for the reply. I know for sure the seal is correct b/c ordered another one (using Chicago rawhide number) and replaced it. What a pain...

The output shaft should be right since it came in the kit and was rechecked but maybe. Ill call AA again to check

Thanks for the imput

Just another thought., as I recall., there's loose roller (needle) bearings where the adapt. shaft inserts into the T-case. Those bearings are still in place I would assume...?

If not., there would be some major wobble I would think.
