Now that my excitement has calmed down to a level that i'm able to type without shaking, i would like to take this opportunity to introduce everyone here to The Dark Horse

There is alot of heritage and history behind this truck so i would like to share that first. This truck was built in 2002 by one of the local 4x4 shops in the Calgary area Modern Motors STILKIN from this site is actually the owner of the shop. When i first saw this truck come together in 2002 it was the reason that i started buying and building Broncos. Shortly after this truck debuted was when i bought my first 79 Bronco. The obsession evolved from there with another 78 Bronco, and then to my 95 that i currently own. All in hopes that one day i was going to be able to build a replica of the "Bogginfreaks Bronco"

Here are the specs of the truck before I let everyone see the pics ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

1979 Ford Bronco (now named The Dark Horse)

460 bored out to a 466 with a Holley Truck Avenger 770 CFM 4 barrel Carb

C6 Transmission with an 1100 stall

NP205 T-Case

Dana 60 front with Detroit locker and 5:13 gears with Chromoly Axle Shafts and CTM U-Joints

Hydro Assist Steering

14 Bolt Rear with same 5:13 gears and Detroit locker as well

ARB Bumpers Front and Rear

Warn 12,000lb Winches Front and Rear

4 Racing Seats with 5 point harnesses

Custom Interior Roll Cage

44/19.5/16.5 Boggers with Beadlock Rims

4 wheel disc brakes

Custom Soft Top

When the truck was built in 2002 all brand new body pannels were ordered so there isn't a spec of rust on it.

Once my 95 Bronco sells i'll be able to bring The Dark Horse Home!!!

So now that you know the story behind it and the specs here are the pics

It has inspired me even more now. The look is what I have been aiming for only with an 87. I LOVE his rear roll cage!

Thats just sick, defies the rules...... I will be lucky if I can stick my foot under my back tire without the front tire coming off the ground.

other then the truck having been neglected for the past 3 years there isn't going to be much needed to get it all fixed up and ready to go for trail.

so far we have already changed out the holley 770 carb for a holley 670. completely got rid of the hesitation that the truck had and i believe it's going to work so much better for the type of wheeling that we do. the 770 would have been great if it was still going to be only a mud truck. all of the fender flares have been removed, and the hood latch had to get fixed. we still need to find something to use for an extra power steering fluid resivour to finish getting the steering problems figured out. les has been working on fixing alot of the wiring on the truck that wasn't grounded out properly, so hopefully that will get rid of the draw it had. after taking it for a putt putt drive around by les's house on the weekend too the rear main developed a leak. so i'm sure it'll need a few more miles on it to see how many other seals have dried out.

so for the next few weeks the list is going to include:

resivor for steering so that is fixed

better master **** switch for the power instead of the twist switches under the hood

full fluid and drive train check on levels and cleanliness

trying to fix some of the body damage done from the flop in 06

repainting that god awful red interior (i really really hate red interior)

adding my personal custom touch to the exterior ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

and finishing the bath on the truck in and out to get rid of 3 yrs of built up dust, dirt and cat hair

You think it's big enough??

That thing is AWESOME.

p.s. ever tried a Race Demon carb? From personal experience, they offer performance and insane throttle response over a standard Holley.(even a worked Holley) Try one. Once you go Race Demon, you never go back. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

She has a Holley truck avenger, the only thing better for off road would be an after market fuel injection.
