testing t-case motor

I was wondering how to test the transfer case motor for power, because I dont want to replace a good motor. There are 7 or 8 wires going to it and 2 more coming off the side. Which ones would i test with a multimeter. Thank you

Some tap the motor w/ a rubber tipped mallet; this helps "set" the travel stops
