Seems odd. Sounds like every ball joint, tie-rod, wheel bearing, steering box, steering shaft or splines on the steering wheel are bad. What kind of rig is this?

You can take some of these off the list once you look them over but that sounds like a crazy problem. Have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth with tires on the gound and engine off. Look at all the steering knuckles, track bar, wheel bearings. Jack up one tire at a time and wobble the tire and look at ball joints and wheel bearings. The look at the steering box. Is to fully secure to the frame. Look at the steering shaft in relation to the pitman are moving. Are they both moving the same?

If your lifted.you could be having a bind in the steering shaft from the bottom of the column to the gear box.
