Hi, my 90 XLT has 2 small leaks in the stainless tranny cooler lines. Do I need to change them out or is there an alternative fix?

If the leak is in a place that will allow it, you could cut them and replace the bad section with rubber hose. Your local friendly parts store could suggest a good hose, fuel grade should do it. I have rubber hose from the radiator cooling tank to the transmission cooler in front of the radiator.

Good luck,

:)>-

Great, thanks! I was just worried about the high temp/pressure with rubber, but then the after market coolers do use it. Do those lines have lots of pressure- should I try to flare the ends of the cut stainless or will the hose clamp alone hold it?
