Speedometer needle floats, off & on. Seems more noticable when its cold & at slower speed. I don't hear anything. Any thoughts... cable, speedometer itself?

I've never had the speedometer cable off on the dash side...yet. Trickey looking clip.... To remove the cable from the top, does that require removing the bottom from the transfer case?

All you have to do is push the cable lock at speedo to the side and pull the housing away from the speedo. You will not have to remove or disconnect anything from the transfer case.

Try the light grease and check the rest of the speedo cable for crimps/abrasions, you may need a new cable. When I bought mine it was just under $20.
