Ok ya'll im looking for some tires and want to keep them around the $300 range. So far im looking for a 35- 36. Im leaning twards the IROK 36X13.50X15 for $275. Ive got a 6" ProComp Stage II and feel like I have plenty of clearance for that size. The other ones im tossing around are Goodyear Wranglers, DC Mud Country, and BFG MT/KM2's.. Whats yalls 2 cents on the tires..

I'd recommend the Irok's and BFG's, but stay away from the GYR Wranglers. Their sidewall is so thin you'll have a flat every mile. A bunch of us started running the Goodyear RT-II Hummer tires that you can get used for $25-$50 with 80%-90% tread. There is a radial tire version for the daily drivers along wit the bias-ply's just for offroad. JSM84

A few friends of mine have had bad luck with the BFG's. Overall they are a good tire, but they had a problem with the treadwear they had on them. The last thing you want to do is spend a bunch of money on a tire that isn't going to last.

I would go with either Interco Trxus MT's or the Cepek MTZ's. I've run the Trxus's on my 99 Explorer with absolute satisfaction and pure performance through all on-road conditions and a multitude of off-road applications. The MTZ's look fairly promising also and I've read some good reviews from the magazine racks. I'm currently running Cooper STT's on my '92 with a greeat deal off satisfaction, but once my lift goes in, some 34 Trxus's will take over traction duty.

get the bfg mud terrains. fine tred wear. great in mud. last a long time. cheap. awesome tire.
swampers are great in mud. but have like no tread life and are super super super heavy and add tons of weight to ur truck. and arent cheap

Actually, everywhere I've looked thus far, the BFG's a/t, m/t and the trXus MT all run about the same price.
Asking around, most people seem to prefer BFG's for performance, and trXus for looks.
There are a lot of fanboys on either side of the equation though, so stay away from advice from that group if possible.

The big question you need to be able to answer for yourself is what do you want your next set of tires to do for you. Make a list in order of priority of importance before you spend a dime. You stand a much better chance of making the comprises that are typically found when choosing tires. Just the difference between an AT or an MT which can each be terriffic tires when bought for the right reasons, or horrible disappointments when bought for the wrong reasons. My favorite tire was a BFG Baja TA which cost a bundle was fantastic in the desert nearly impossible to hurt but even though it cost twice as much is lasted half as long which after a few sets I finally decided I had to slow down a little bit & went with the MT KM2 which so far has been pretty good no flats & already has lasted longer than the Bajas.
