shake

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on lately but it seems like it's going well. I have a slight problem with my Bronc'. When I'm driving down the road or even just backing up, I get a bad shake comeing from somewhere around the transfer case or further back. I was wondering if when I drove it with the bolts loose if I may have bent the tailshaft from the transfer case? If not, what may be the problem? Any type of information would be great!

first check and make sure your bolts are all tight. then check the condition of your ujoints. after that, make sure your driveshaft is true, if they didnt replace that it would be tweaked which would throw it way out of balance

i had a similiar problem recently, when under acceleration or on the gas at all, i could feel a vibration in the steering wheel, i was checkin my driveline out that night and found that the u-joints were toasted. Replaced them and fixed my problem.

so for you i would just park your truck stick it in park and try to turn your driveline, if it seems that the ujoints are wobbly, just go ahead and replace them.

I think I may have found the cause of my shake. I drove home from work today and smelled a familiar smell. Something like old or bad gear oil. When I got home, I was leaking BADfrom my rear diff. If I blew the gear or maybe un-meshed them could that cause a shake? That's what I'm going to guess?
